SPIRITUAL DISEASE

Certain attitudes or feelings are deadly poison for both soul and body. Anger, worry, envy, hatred, suspicion, fear, resentment, and impatience can cause bad digestion, ulcers, heart trouble, and other disease. They choke out spiritual life and cause all kinds of trouble. Pride, selfishness, unbelief, and stubbornness are also spiritual poison. They take away the joy and leave our soul weak, sickly, and unhappy.

How true; negative feelings and attitudes open the door to sickness of the mind and the body.

Harbouring ill-feeling is spiritual disease, too!

@ Ramonching,

Happy New Year to you, too! Better late than never. Am extremely busy, pahapyaw lang ako kung magbukas ng blog ngayon. The very first day of 2009 was so hectic. I had to turn down all other invitations.

@ MonMon,

The only way to be at peace with yourself is to forgive and forget. Let not your heart be troubled with the things in the past.

We are often ourselves the cause of our own dryness and barrenness. God deprives us of consolations when we are so bitter for just about anything that do not make us happy. If we neglect to gather up and use the treasures of God’s Love in due time, He withdraws them as a punishment for our being stubborn and disloyal to Him.

If you have satiated yourself with worldly delights, spiritual pleasures are repulsive to you. If you are abound in earthly pleasures chances are high for you to yield into weaknesses and temptations and forget all about your spirituality.
