ANIMAL WORLD - OPOSSUM

N
ot all marsupials are native of Australia, New Guinea, and Suwalesi. There is one North American native marsupial, the opossum. Like any other marsupials, opossum carries her offspring in a pouch/marsupium. It gives birth to babies that weigh only 1/15 ounce and are not yet fully developed. The babies of marsupials are not born in the pouch, as blind infants, they must feel their way along the mother's abdomen by instinct to get to it. Then they maintain inside the pouch for several months, completing their development.
