THE RED, RED ROSE

Scotland's most famous poet, Robert Burns once wrote that his love was like "a red, red rose." He compared the pretty girl he loved to a red, red rose. He probably meant that the pretty girl's complexion is an attractive and healthy looking as a beautiful rose and the texture of her skin is as velvety and smooth as the petals of a rose. The way she stands is as straight and regal as the rose held upright by its straight firm stem. The subtle fragrant of the rose may correspond to the fragrance of the girl, the way she attracts people is like the way beautiful rose attracts those who see it.

A Red, Red Rose

Oh my luve is like a red, red rose,
That's newly sprung in June:
Oh my luve is like the melodie,
That's sweetly play'd in tune.

As fair art thou, my bonie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry.

Till a' seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun;
And I will luve thee still, my dear
While the sands o' life shall run.

And fare thee weel, my only luve!
And fare thee weel a while!
And I will come again, my luve
Tho' it were ten thousand mile!

Na-excite akong bigla sa tula ni Robert Burns. Ang gleng-gleng! I fell in love with it!
