You tell me don't lie!!!
There's no truth about the conjecture that women lie more than men, much as children or adults, politicians or lawyers, supervisors or subordinates, writers or readers, rich or poor, techers or students.
Why do people feel they need to tell lies. A study shows that there are definitely different reasons for lying. May be, because of fear, embarrassment, to protect one self or the interest of another, for money, to take advantage of the generosity and kindness of others, or merely just for fun.
In a work-related situation, a secretary may have to lie from time to time to cover up for his/her immediate supervisor, especially if the latter does not want to take calls from someone he/she does not want to talk to.
You are not being honest if you tell your colleague that he/she did an excellent job, when you know for a fact that it is a worthless output. It is big blunder to boost his/her morale for something you know that is not praiseworthy. You are not helping at all. For whatever reasons, nobody knows why people keep on lying.
Honesty is one virtue that always leads to goodness, kindness, generosity, thoughtfulness, and that's no lie!

Nice one! I have a similar article on lying and truth - The Amalgamation of Lies and Truth. I guess it's really human nature. It's more of a choice of one's person to tell the truth or lie.

You're right, it's a choice that we have to make every minute of the day. You can't be honest all the time, especially when you are trapped in a situation wherein you really have to cover up for somebody. Whether you like it or not, wala kang magawa!

I always hear my friends saying, "white lies lang 'yon". There are no such things as white lies. The phrase is deceiving, and when you deceive, you lie and it's a sin.

To tell a lie is to break away from the love of God.
'In hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began,..." (Titus 1:2).
It states clearly in this verse that the probability of God to lie is nil.
How about us? Of course we do lie at times but not all the time. There are people who tell lies intentionally and some unintentionally (they call it white lies), i.e.supposed your son/daughter is sick and he/she doen not want to take medicine because of the taste. Scold him/her? No, you will tell a lie of course. How? 'If you will not take this medicine you will die'. And its the other way around, you lie because you want him/her to get well.
There's no such thing as white lies, brother! If there is, it causes harm, therefore, it is still a lie!
I had a serious argument with a colleague, who is from another denomination, the subject, "telling lies". It was a serious discussion, the bottomline, we didn't accept each other's explanation.
