"We'd never know how high we are
till we are called to rise;
and then, if we are true to plan,
our statures touch the sky."

our statures touch the sky."
Emily Elizabeth Dickinson
A prolific American poet, who became known
for her penchant for white clothing and her reluctance
to greet guests or, later in life, even leave her room.
Most of her friendships were, therefore,
carried out by correspondence.

Emily Dickinson... hmmmppp, poet din siya di ba. She was shy and very private!
Emely Dickinson is the perfect example of one who followed Thoreau's advice to "explore thyself," to "be a Columbus to whole new continents and worlds within you, opening new channels, not of trade, but of thought."
Have you noticed that Emily made small use for commas and none at all for colons and semicolons in her poems. She's fond of using dash(es)...
@ Ramon
She wrote many beautiful and meaningful poems.

Yes, I have noticed that, too!
She was a very private person. Didn't like fame at all. She kept things to herself.
I am not familiar with any of her works.
There's no such thing as hopeless. If you are with the Lord, there is hope for everything. Nothing is impossible to Him! You will be hopeless if you are not with HIM.
