One of the most elusive of all human experiences is joy; it's like a distant glimmer from a star. It comes when you least expect it. You can't catch it when you want it, and you lose it even when you are already touching it with your fingertips. But when you give up chasing it, it alights on your head, like a butterfly, and changes the world for you; the ordinary becomes extraordinary, dull moments become colorful, and everything seems special. Joy is like the rain, free, ever flowing, and it's more than just happiness to behold.
Joy isn't something we have to strive for. It's one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. It's ours to receive if we abide in Him.
