THE LIGHT OF THE CANDLES

The violet and rose colors of Advent are those of the dawn just before sunrise. On this last day of the season, we rejoice that the long night of sin and death is ended, and that Jesus Christ, the sun that never sets, has brought into our world light, happiness and peace. The radiance of His love dispels the darkness of our lives and gives us hope of enjoying everlasting life in His presence.

Just read a very interesting and revealing article about our many choices in life, the consequences of wrong turns, and the necessity of a light, a map, signposts, and teammates.

The rest of our life is just like a maze; we face many decision points where we will have to decide whether to go left, right, or straight ahead. Day after day, we are faced with so many options, decision after decision, reversing course and starting all over again, backtracking and wasting a great deal of time and energy, getting frustrated and not knowing what to do. Making wrong choices and choosing the wrong paths will waste parts of our lives, lose joy and peace, and getting frustrated and not knowing what to do at the end.

Who do we go to when we are lost in the maze of life? We have the Word of God, which is the lamp for our feet and the light for our paths.
